waste of money or...?

The everchanging costumes at OKHC is probably what I enjoy the most in the story. As a result, I've compiled a brief list of my favorite fashion sessions from the series accompanied by personal comments, some more elaborate than the others.

from south island

Fear the power of Host Club! Not only were these costumes distributed during winter time, the entire club room was also decorated by tropical plants to remind the customers of a hot, bright summer.

boy meets girl

Hmm. I can't say OKHC's Christmas attire was that unique: even the customers were all dressed up during the Party. Nevertheless, I put this section up for the sake of Haruhi's first girlish appearance. And I love Tamaki's expressions in this chapter.

spring tea party

You can probably tell that this is one of my favorite OKHC sessions in the series, judging from the default layout of this site. While there was nothing too special about the actual costumes, I really enjoyed the mixed flavor of western and eastern styles assigned to each club member.

arabian nights

What can I say? Tamaki makes a very handsome King here and Haruhi is just like a cute little princess-maid. (Which makes perfect sense because she's holding a teapot, heh) The only part that made me laugh out loud was Kyouya's glasses. Somehow it made him look like a treasurer from an Arabian troupe, haha.

zuka inspirational

Damn... everyone's too pretty as girls... ouuuuch my tummy...

heian reminiscence

Well-known for its rich colors and elegant presentation, Heian attire is another great addition to OKHC's fashion album - considering the fact that Ouran is a lot like Heian Era with all the rich and famous. My favorite award shall go to Haruhi again this time: she's so-o cute in that hair style!

samurai festival

Shinsengumi Banza~i! How can Haruhi not know the popularity of Bakumatsu figures among girls? Being a rather crazy Shinsengumi fan myself, it was beyond delightful to flip the preview pages of this chapter. I bet Bisco Hatori is also an Edo Era fan because heck, there's no better character than Ryoma Sakamoto who can paint Tamaki's overall image so well, both in appearance and personality. Meanwhile, Haruhi makes a beautiful Okita and Kyouya's glasses totally saved the day.

conclusory note

Everything mentioned above only counts as a small portion of OKHC's daily presentation to its customers. I would recommend all Ouran fans to browse the whole manga set carefully for more gorgeous costumes.
